Living at Alto Lakes

Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club was originally developed in the 1960s by Don Blaugrund, starting with the Alto Lakes subdivision. Now, 11 more neighborhoods have become part of the community, each with its own character, so there’s something for everyone. Each homeowner is automatically a member of Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club, which is what makes living in this area so special. Let’s find out why.

Get Active

Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club has two 18-hole championship golf courses for its members to enjoy: Alto Lakes and The Outlaw at Alto Lakes, located in Alto Golf Estates. There are even negotiations underway that may add what is now Kokopelli Golf Club with a par 63 executive course to the country club.

Where else might you spot elk, deer, or wild horses while you play a round of golf? The cooler mountain air makes summer playing especially pleasurable. In addition, the country club offers a variety of special golf tournaments like the men’s Snowcapper, the ladies’ Kachina Doll, and Mixed Couples. There are also clinics like the Junior Golf Camp and beginner classes.

These golf courses set in the beautiful mountains are the holes-in-one of what Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club has to offer, but there’s so much more. If you’re a fan of one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, pickleball, you’ll find that the Alto Pickleball Association has a satellite club and even a pro shop at Alto Lakes. Of course, tennis players will also find much to love here, with plenty of courts and Alto Lakes Tennis Association membership available for a very small annual fee.

As of summer 2023, construction was underway to create a beautiful new fitness complex with both an indoor lap pool and an outdoor family pool with a slide. Construction is expected to be completed by the fall of 2023.

Enjoy the Good Life

In addition to golf, swimming, and racket sports, Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club offers top-notch amenities to make your life there even better.

Music lovers will appreciate the state-of-the-art sound system at the country club’s patio concert area, which brings to the stage talented locals and nationally known performers during its summer concert season. You must be a member or the guest of a member to enjoy these shows that are often sold out. That’s just another reason to consider living at Alto Lakes.

Whether you just finished playing 18 holes and worked up an appetite or want to spend a special evening with friends and family, there’s a dining experience for you at Alto Lakes. Head to the 7,500º Lounge to have a drink with your golf buddies, enjoy a casual lunch, or watch a game. The First Dining Room is the main dining area at Alto Lakes and the Small Dining Room is available for small group events. The tempting menu includes everything from aged and grilled ribeye steaks to vegetarian options.

The Outlaw at Alto Lakes has a clubhouse that offers dining every day except Tuesday, with daily specials available. They’ll soon be offering special sporting and music events at The Outlaw, too.

He is enthusiastic about what Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club has to offer, saying, “Alto is really a nice place in a beautiful mountain setting with wild horses, elk, deer, and incredible views of the Sacramento and Capitan Mountains. The Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club has so much to offer its members: two full 18-hole golf courses, two clubhouses, tennis, pickleball, fine dining, concerts, and the brand-new $8 million fitness center and pools. Plus, compared to other mountain country club communities around the country, it is exceptionally affordable!”
